October was a busy month at The Bryant Library Local History Collection! We welcomed many patrons and researchers, hosted an outdoor "Discovery Walk" for the Town of North Hempstead's "Project Independence", received new donations, continued our "Spotlight on Educators" blog series, and created a special video presentation on the Roslyn War Memorial, the building where the Bryant Library currently resides.
Back in October 2021, we celebrated the centennial anniversary of this historic building with a live presentation and self-guided scavenger hunt where patrons received prizes for spotting various architectural features around the building's exterior.
This year we decided to expand our research of the building's history to create a short documentary feature using information and visuals directly from our archives. We hope you enjoy the video, which is narrated by Wendy Roque, one of The Bryant Library's Adult Reference librarians.
